About Vin Morreale, Jr.
Vin Morreale, Jr. is an award-winning writer. director, producer, actor and acting teacher.
Vin has sold material to TV shows like REMINGTON STEELE and THE SMURFS, and has had eleven film scripts placed under option contracts with small producers. He has won film festivals and screenplay contests, as well as awards for short fiction, stage plays and commercial writing. His feature-length romantic comedy, BREAKING & ENTERING premiered at Louisville’s Palace Theater with the largest single-screening box office ever in the Southeast. The low-budget independent was named Best Feature at the Midwest Entertainment Industry Conference, Best Comedy at Cine-Fest ’08, and an Official Jury Selection for the Bluegrass Film Festival and the Cincinnati International Film Festival. Vin is currently in post-production on his second feature film, THE GIFT for Inspiration Ink & Picture Company.
Vin Morreale, Jr. has written, directed or produced numerous documentaries and educational videos, including the internationally acclaimed, six-hour series The PGA of America’s Complete History Of Golf, The Kentucky Derby Collector’s Showcase, Rand McNally’s “Central Florida,” Altered Visions - The Dan Rhema Story, as well as the Telly Award-winning performance documentary, The Louisville Ballet’s “Cinderella.” He directed two episodes of the half-hour drama The Stranger for TBN, and has helped craft more than 600 corporate videos and commercials for hundreds of clients, such as IBM, GE, Sears, Eli Lilly, Humana, the Kentucky Medical Association, Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center and more.
He is a recipient of the prestigious Al Smith Fellowship for artistic accomplishments in playwriting. To date, he has written thirty-six stage plays, including many in print with national publishers. His work has been given hundreds of productions throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. His book on theater, BURNING UP THE STAGE - Monologues, Short Scenes and Audition Pieces For Actors From Six To Seventy, is sold worldwidethrough Dramatic Publishing. His comedy material has been broadcast on radio stations nationwide. He was a founder member of the San Francisco Playwrights’ Center and the Senseless Bickering Comedy Theatre.
As an actor, Vin has appeared in hundreds of commercials, videos and low-budget feature films, in addition to being Al Pacino’s stand-in & double in Michael Mann’s THE INSIDER. Over the years, he has performed on stage, radio and TV from Boston to San Francisco. Along with his nationally known BURNING UP THE STAGE performance workshops, Vin is the primary acting coach for the Alix Adams Agency, and has taught both acting and scriptwriting from elementary school through college level. Under his direction, VSM Entertainment has grown into Kentucky’s leading provider of casting, extras casting and crew services for film, TV and stage, with a diverse talent pool that reaches into six states across the Southeast and Midwest.
