Inspire Goodness?

We are each given a handful of decades on this earth. A smattering of years, rich or lean, from which we must discover some code of order by which to live and be remembered. This is our legacy - not simply that we have lived, but that we have done something to add value and dimension to that brief time we are here.

Over the last five decades, popular culture has moved from the 'Now Generation,' then the 'Me Generation', followed by the 'Greed Generation', the Slacker Generation,  to a self-focused world where we connect more through electronic filters than through human contact. 

Not that progress is undesirable, but perhaps we have lost sight of the simple pleasure of serving others. Of looking into the fearful eyes of a child, or the desperate face of a friend in need, and offering a reassuring smile and a few soft words of encouragement and inspiration. 

Physiology aside, we need to remember that the first muscle that extends a helping hand is the heart, and that truly reaching out to a fellow human being does not require an email, Facebook or Twitter interface. 

There is a joy in giving, a unique satisfaction in helping others find their way, and a transformational healing within us as we pass along the twin blessings of hope and forgiveness. 

Nothing is more contagious than an open heart and a willing spirit. Email us HERE with suggestions of how you inspire goodness in your family, or in your community. They don't have to be earth-changing, just heart-changing. You don't have to be a saint, just someone who takes the time to care.
